I’ve been following Yagazie for some time now on IG, and I’m soooo grateful for this video, and finally being able to place the voice and personality behind the powerful, visual stories that pop up on my feed everyday. Loved this, ready to go to Africa!!
Wonderful discussion Zim & Yagazi. I enjoyed the deep honesty about each of your experience about the continent of Africa. I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ghana during 2014-2016 and I loved my experience; though I was in a rural village in the Eastern Region, there is a stark difference amongst the native locals in the city (Accra, Kumasi, Tamale) and those in rural villages (Omanekrom, Ejisu, etc). I do agree with the continuation of stereotype still existing on both sides (Africans & Black US citizens). I continue to keep in touch with those who have made my journey “home” wonderful. Each region is truly different based on having friends from Zaire, Kenya, Angola, South African, etc. I look forward to traveling a bit more to some of the African countries – Senegal, Kenya, South Africa. Thank you.
